Out of Hours Service
Between 18:30 and 08:30 Monday to Friday and all day at weekends and on bank holidays.
Outside of surgery hours (18:30 – 08:30) emergency GP cover, provided by the out of hours service can be accessed by calling the usual surgery number. A recorded message will provide the contact details for the service.
If you feel you need to be seen out-of-hours contact the out-of-hours service who will advise you and assess your health needs. If appropriate you may be given an appointment to attend the out-of-hours centres at Cardiff Royal Infirmary or the University Hospital of Wales.
NHS Direct
Alternatively, you can access urgent assistance by calling NHS Direct on 0845 4647. A triage nurse will assess your situation and take appropriate action.
Out of hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.
In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
Prescriptions
Please note the last day to order prescriptions before Christmas is Friday 20th December and the last day before New Year is Friday 27th December.
